Who we are
Follower Watch is operated by VF Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 46 669 823 036), an Australian company. This policy applies to the Follower Watch website, browser extension, mobile applications, APIs, account services and email alerts (together, the Service).
Information we collect
When you create a Follower Watch account, we may process your Auth0 account identifier, email address, name, locale and marketing preference. When you purchase or hold a subscription, we keep identifiers and status information needed to connect your Follower Watch account with billing records, such as a Stripe customer or subscription identifier, plan, subscription status, billing country and postal code. Stripe processes payment-card details; Follower Watch does not store complete card details. If you contact support, we process the name, email address and message you provide. Our services and infrastructure providers may also process ordinary technical information such as IP address, device or browser information, request timestamps and error or security logs.
Instagram and tracking information
Follower Watch processes Instagram usernames, profile identifiers, profile names, profile image URLs, privacy status, follower and following counts, and relationship information needed for features you request. Full follower and following snapshots created directly by the browser extension or mobile app are ordinarily stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to VF Technologies merely because you run a local scan. Information needed for website lookups, account-linked tracked profiles and email alerts is processed on our servers. Email alerts may require us to store the selected profile, alert preferences, counts and follower or following relationship results so changes can be detected. The extension and mobile app use your existing Instagram session on your device. We do not ask for or store your Instagram password. Instagram is a separate service governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
Website cookies and local storage
The website uses cookies, local storage and session storage for authentication, language preferences, anonymous lookup limits, cached relationship lists and pending preferences. Where configured, Google Ads tags measure advertising and purchase conversions and may use cookies or similar identifiers. You can control cookies through your browser and any consent controls we make available, although disabling essential storage may prevent parts of the Service from working.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users; provide lookups, local scans, account synchronization, subscriptions and email alerts; enforce usage limits; send service messages and marketing messages you have requested; answer support requests; secure, diagnose and improve the Service; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service, comply with law or protect rights and safety. Providers may include Auth0 for authentication, Stripe for billing, Resend for email delivery, Google for advertising measurement, and hosting, database, security and network providers. These providers process information under their own terms and our arrangements with them. We may also disclose information in connection with a corporate transaction or when legally required.
Retention and account deletion
We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including providing the Service, maintaining security records and meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. You can delete your authenticated Follower Watch account from the account controls in the website or mobile app. This cancels active recurring billing and removes the associated Auth0 identity and Follower Watch application records. Stripe or accounting providers may retain transaction records for the periods required by applicable law. A one-way hash of the Auth0 account identifier is normally retained for 31 days, and longer only if necessary to match the lifetime of an already-issued access token, so that token cannot recreate a deleted account. Local profiles and snapshots stored on your device are not removed by deleting the online account; delete them in the app, clear the extension data or remove the app to erase that local data. If you cannot access the account controls, submit a request at https://follower-watch.com/delete-account or email contact@follower-watch.com from the address associated with your account with the subject “Account deletion”.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information, but no internet or storage system is completely secure. Our providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Your choices and rights
You can update certain account and alert information in the Service, unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in those messages, and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, or to complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
